Ted arrives in Germany

Saturday 17th April
Onward to Cochem to join the MS Amacello. The station in Brussels was heaving with passengers. I had to take a number and wait my turn, but since there were only 6 people on the desks and I had about 100 people in front of me – I had a very long wait. I was able to buy a ticket through to Cochem but I had to change trains in Luxembourg and Trier.
The station was really easy to get around and I had no trouble finding my platform for my train.
I had planned to catch the 8.30 train but due to 1 ¼ hour wait I had to catch the 9.30 train.
The train journey was a breeze, the trains were clean,on time and not as busy as I had expected.
It was very easy to find my next train when I arrived in Luxembourg station, the station is very modern, good elevator access and the platforms are well sign posted. My connection to Trier was good but the connection from Trier to Cochem was only a few minutes, but it is a small station and since the trains run on time I managed to get to the next platform in the nick of time.
When I arrived at Cochem the station is quite quaint, so small there was no elevator, so I did have to carry my heavy case down some stairs.
I arrived on the MS Amacello at around 3.30 with a very warm welcome from Albert and the crew.
