Almost a week after a cloud of ash from an Icelandic volcano brought Europe’s skies to a halt, most airports have reopened today.
Although delays are expected, it is thought that up to 80% of flights in Europe would be operating as planned today
Britain reopened its airspace from 2200 on Tuesday, allowing long-haul flights to land at Heathrow airport. It is expected that most flights will be operating as scheduled by Thursday 22nd April.
Meanwhile, Celebrity Cruise’s brand new £500m ship has put its inaugural celebrations on hold to travel to Bilbao in Spain on an unprecedented rescue mission to collect 2,000 British holiday makers who are desperate to get back to the UK.
